Personal experience of a senior student during her journey at AUE. Where her dreams became true.
I am Rohilah Nasir Ahmad and I am part of AUE since 2014. I would like to share my experience at which started with many arguments that I had with my father. It was hard to convince him for further education but eventually got his approval to get my university degree. I came to Dubai in 2012 just for the sake of continuing my education. I started searching for universities to study and I found American University in the Emirates. First of all, the name and the slogan of this university caught my attention, which made me to know more information about this university. I decided to visit and get more information about the majors they are presenting. I remember that it was, spring semester 2014 I visited AUE and got a lot of information with all the details. I became extremely happy that I found my place to study because I found my preferred major which is International Relations. From a very young age I was interested in political subjects and and global news. Then I decided to register in this university after completing the requirements. My first day at AUE was on 25 January, 2014. I was extremely happy; the emotions are hard to put in words. I remember my first class was Computer Literacy at 9:00 am. At the beginning I was unaccustomed to everything, but what I want to add here is that the staff of AUE was so kind with us from the receptionist to the head of the board. Especially there was one AUE student who was working in College of Mass and Media Communication (CMMC) College I would like to thank him that he helped me to find my way at AUE. Than after the days passed, I adapted with time. I don’t remember that I ever had a bad day at AUE. I’m not exaggerating but it’s true that I was enjoying beside my studies every moment that I have been there because of having such kind and lovely professors like Dr.Tarik Emre, Mr. Asad Ullah Khalid, Dr. Christopher, Dr.Konrad, Dr. Jannet Madhu and I would like to thank our president he was supporting students all the time and he has always given us useful advices.
Now one current semester is left for me I would like to thank all my doctors and professors that they taught me many things beside what’s required to study at the same time. They taught me and advised me in many areas of life how to be a good person, how to be a useful person in our societies.
