The benefits of an electric car are the zero petrol costs and low running costs for the cars as there are no moving parts which need service or maintenance and their famous autonomous driving features. Companies such as Tesla, Nissan and Renault have been attracted to the region to sell their electric cars to the general public and setup charging stations.

In line with the Dubai 2030 vision, the city plans to have at least 30% autonomous cars and 25% electric vehicles.
