Dubai: Every thrill-lover’s dream came true when Legoland and Riverland officially opened their doors to people in Dubai on Monday, October 31st, welcoming thrill-seekers and fans of the cult Danish brick-based toy.
Prior to opening, Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, CEO of DXB Entertainments PJSC and the owner of Dubai Parks and Resorts, invited residents and visitors to “experience amazing.”
Dubai Parks and Resorts covers area more than six times larger than the Vatican City with its 30 million square feet.
Legoland is the first of its kind built in the Middle East, and it is designed to provide a full-day interactive experience for families with children aged two to 12.
Legoland consists of six themed lands, with each one unique in its own way, including: MINILAND, consisting 20 million LEGO bricks and featuring skyline and recognizable landmarks from international destinations and around the Middle East; Lego City , where children can earn a LEGOLAND driving license at the driving school or can fly a plane at LEGO City airport; IMAGINATION, the perfect land for every LEGO fan to spend hours racing LEGO cars, playing or obtaining some skills from the Master Builder Academy; ADVENTURE, for the young ones with the inner explorer in them, seeking excitement from wave to submarine rides, and KINGDOMS; where princesses and knights can conquer Dragon Coaster and explore a medieval land.
For those who do not like Legos, Riverland Dubai is a great alternative with free admissions. It is located at the center of the park, featuring an area for festivals and concerts. A boulevard containing palm trees and neon signs is designed to look like America in 1950s.
Tourists and even residents who would like to stay close to the restaurants and attractions, a Polynesian-themed resort hotel called Lapita is available. It features 503 rooms and it opened on November 15.
As for the tickets, Legoland lovers can enjoy the attractions for AED295 per adult, and AED250 for children and the elders, while the children under the age of three enter for free. There is also availability of an annual pass which costs AED765. It includes unlimited entry throughout the year and 10 percent discount on dining and shopping.
Apart from Legoland and Riverland, Legoland Water Park and the Bollywood Parks opened their doors on November 15. Meanwhile, the Hollywood-themed Motiongate will open on December 16.
